Q is for Quail

Living close to the Earth, group nourishment and protection.
Seeing danger and finding peaceful alternatives.
Having courage in times of hardship.
Quails have an intricate system of communication, and much of is revolves around avoiding danger.
Quails have an uncanny sense of their surroundings, and are masters at eluding predators. They stay grounded, preferring the comfort of tall grasses over open skies. This reminds us to keep ourselves protected.

When Quail comes to call, be smart, communicate your hesitation clearly and be mindful to stay out of harm's way.
  • Bobwhite (Virginia Quail) -- Social pairing, time to protect your secrets.

Quail teaches about mysticism and enlightens you about your soul name and purpose.
He is about nourishment of the soul, family, teaches how to elude problems, spot danger, and safety issues.
Are you spending enough time with family?
There's safety in numbers, perhaps you need to socialize?
Quail also aids in awareness of dangers and gives you the quickness and camouflage you need in time of crisis. Are you blending in? Should you at this time?
Quail will show you much about movement and taking opportunities when they are right. Allow quail to teach you this fine arts. It is time to be aware of what is going on around you.

Do you have an affinity with a bird?

  1. When I used to visit Arizona in the summer, I'd get up extra early to take a walk before the sun rose, and I'd see families of quail scooting along on the side of the road like pearls on a necklace--parents in front, babies tagging along behind.
