Badger as Power Animal

A keeper of stories with Earth knowledge and wisdom. It is a call to persevere and see things through to completion. Associated with having the courage to face danger and fight regardless of size and strength of the other.
The badger as your  power animal .will help you to fight for your rights. Shape shifting quality: the badger is small, but can still defend itself against larger animals by backing itself into a hole or corner so the back of its body is protected.
The badger is self interested and does not relate well to others.
A remorseless attacker, when encountering a badger do not be surprised at the seeming cruelty and viciousness of its attack and its lack of concern for its victim feelings afterwards, that is just its nature.

According to Native Americans, the sighting of badger tracks was very auspicious. Seeing badger tracks was a message that all things are possible when we tap into our inner creative powers.
The badger stops at nothing to get what it wants, and this is a lesson for us to be persistent in our pursuits. Specifically, those with the badger totem often attract this creature because he/she has difficulty finishing what is started. The badger will help with this aspect in life. You can call upon the stubborn, strong-willed nature of the badger to help you complete any project you start.
The badger is also fiercely independent and can be quite aggressive when threatened
This is a lesson for us to stand our ground and make our presence known when the situation calls for it. Although smaller in stature, the badger commands attention from friend and foe alike. We can do the same, but we must be mindful that we do so in a healthy, constructive manner.

  1. I find the attributes you mention of the badger very interesting. I hope this doesn't sound like a downer but it is in my mind because of what I am watching on TV right now. Having the qualities of badger seem ideal for living in a post-apocalyptic society. In our current society these attributes would need to be measured though.

  5. I love reading about spirit animals. I used the hummingbird in my first novel...Harvesting the Hummingbird. My very good friend uses them in his novels as well. I look forward to reading about all the animals, and hope you enjoy the A to Z.
